Re: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, 23 nov '08: 1.0
from the first public available day of the new CTS-V, thesnail complaint about brakes inefficiencies. Around spa, it's quite impossible brake the car at bus stop chicane, cause the rear wheels tend towards stop.
these are the infos about brakes. The preview 1 has wheels.braked to 3350.0; I lowered to 3150.0 and the car seems (and i repeat seems) to be a bit more stable. But, reducing the rear brake power, do I reduce the entire brake efficiencies too?
So, reducing and reducing rear values, do I rise the front one? And how? I reduce by 100 and add 100 to front?
- Code:
FRONT:
wheels.pos {-0.770,0.110,1.557}
wheels.inertia 2.798
wheels.powered 0.0
wheels.friction 10
wheels.maxAngle 0.48
wheels.maxSuspension 0.130
wheels.radius 0.343
wheels.braked 6950.0
wheels.handbraked 0.0
wheels.model "cadillac_ctsv_09_wheel.mdl"
wheels.width 0.255
wheels.texture 6
wheels.grip 1.0
wheels.stickyness 0.13
wheels.loadSensitivity -0.07
REAR:
wheels.pos {-0.770,0.110,-1.384}
wheels.inertia 2.991
wheels.powered 0.5
wheels.friction 10
wheels.maxAngle 0.0
wheels.maxSuspension 0.130
wheels.radius 0.328
wheels.braked 3150.0
wheels.handbraked 1.0
wheels.model "cadillac_ctsv_09_wheel.mdl"
wheels.width 0.285
wheels.texture 6
wheels.grip 1.0
wheels.stickyness 0.13
wheels.loadSensitivity -0.07

Re: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, 23 nov '08: 1.0
new fixes will come. Thx to Val testing, I discovered the aerodynamic was messed up. The new value will be rised:
This new setup will lower the acceleration at higher speeds and top too. The brake efficiency is like good now. slowDan sent me a pvt noting:
thx mate, I will fix these errors too.
- Code:
;the car's frontal air resitance.
;this equals cw*S, where cw is the coefficient of friction
;and S is the frontal area of the car in square meters.
;Drag coefficient 0.355
;Frontal Area 2.41 m2
frontAirResistance 0.855
This new setup will lower the acceleration at higher speeds and top too. The brake efficiency is like good now. slowDan sent me a pvt noting:
The front numberplate is in front of the car, and the brake discs are square with interiors off. Other than that I can see nothing really wrong with it.
thx mate, I will fix these errors too.
Re: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, 23 nov '08: 1.0
whoa ... this car is a monster. i must say, not bad for a caddy
the model is gorgeous as usual don and the car is hella fun. one question, are the brakes this weak? i know she's a heavy girl, but i would think the brakes would be a bit stronger judging from cadillac's history of "tank" brakes. the car feels heavy and very well balanced as i assume it is. the other note is the stability, i think she is the most stable car out of your lot, wasn't expecting that when i first took her out. keep up the good work ... i cannot wait for that interior

thx for your comments. The CTS-V has a strong braking system. A six pistons Brembo brakes. I will rise the braking power in preview 3.leoantix wrote:one question, are the brakes this weak? i know she's a heavy girl, but i would think the brakes would be a bit stronger judging from cadillac's history of "tank" brakes. the car feels heavy and very well balanced as i assume it is.
Do you feel this car is too much predictable, or is good as she is?leoantix wrote:the other note is the stability, i think she is the most stable car out of your lot, wasn't expecting that when i first took her out.

I can handle it quite good, which is not "normal" with your cars.DonaemouS wrote:Do you feel this car is too much predictable, or is good as she is?

imho, a bit too stable ... with all that weight and power it should be controlled and balanced yet not without hazardDonaemouS wrote:Do you feel this car is too much predictable, or is good as she is?

Don, you might need to harden the edge where the wheel arches meet the body.

OT: Cadillac Europe announced the new (amazing imho) CTS Coupe. Probably, this car will replace the XLR series, soon or later.
At the same time, Cadillac Europe removed the XLR from italian site. This car wasn't a success in Italy. Perhaps the customers who want to buy a car like this, is a bit demanding. In Italy they was selling the 2006 model for over 89000 Euros.

that looks fabulous. Nice editing. Looks great at the stop when cars coil back from braking.
Re: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, 23 nov '08: 1.0
indeed, I really like how the suspensions worked... emmmh look at first post...
Re: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, 23 nov '08: 1.0
im really sorry, it was completely my fault... preview 3 is bugged on collision box.
I just uploaded the preview3a. This fix my errors. Pls redownload the car, if you already downloaded this car before this post...

I had no time to properly test the car, but the engine sounds like a washing machine at full spin.
