2009 Cadillac CTS-V, 23 nov '08: 1.0
It's strange, something could think, an italian player have already done one american sport cars and now preparing a second powerful one.
For sure, imho, Cadillac is doing really well and the new CTS-V is astonishing, especially with the new Corvette based engine.

Re: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, 23 nov '08: 1.0
i'm starting to ask you help for the final release. The CTS-V is due for 2009. Fortunately, we have specs and lot of movies on which base this car and her handling.
I also have a tons of interior photos, used for making textures. But, unfortunately, I have no exterior colors flower and, hardly here in Italy we will have infos about this car before the middle of 2009.
So, if you (american people) can have a look at some Cadillac showroom, and get a picture or a scan file of car's colors, this will help me. Actually, the car will be released as Red, Black and Dark Grey Titanium.

Ha, I just arrived in Montreal yesterday. Maybe I can find a dealership on my way down to NYC.
BTW, a lot of really ugly or silly cars around here. The new Caddys are an exception, but most of the American rolling stock here is pretty, well, boring, bland, ungainly shaped. Sorry guys, maybe it's just that I grew up in another part of the world...

Re: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, 23 nov '08: 1.0
well, for me no. For the Redline, is far way more then original ones, and I actually "we" could aim to a 3000/3900 finished car, that mean, 2500/3500 polygons less then Racer importer one.Speeddemon wrote:Is 1424 triangulated a lot?
wow, this sound amazing. should be a dream. For S60R Brook went in a dealership and got a tons photos for my interior model. I dream if you can do the same...leoantix wrote:i got off the earlier part of this week don, so ill try to swing to a caddy dealership get some photos and perhaps be able to get a brochure for yea sent via snail mail (no relation to theSnail)
I agree too, and I am a fan of american (sports) car. But look at Ford site. Actually, Ford, is doing amazing car in europe... Amazing... Look at new Mondeo, Focus and other. But these cars are not distributed in USA... no words... Ford is an american Maker, they made good cars for us, and rubbish for them...leoantix wrote:agreed ... domestic cars for the most part are just big and boring ... why i love my imports so much
Actually, as Tomte wrote too, Cadillac is the unique car maker, doing great cars and good to look too. (ehmmm except for the 2010 CTS Sport Wagon)

Umm... What kind of import? I've never been a fan of muscle cars myself, all they do is go straight.leoantix wrote: why i love my imports so much

Re: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, 23 nov '08: 1.0
You mean the one that Honda started copying in the 70s I've had 5 hondas from 1985 to 2004 and one of those I paid 12000$ for, drove it for 9 years, and sold it for 5000$ isnt that amazing! My best and favorite one was my 1993 Civic Hatchback. It held the road wonderfully, had amazing acceleration and if I remember correctly did about 215km top speed. (Plenty fast for Canadian roads) I know own two boring GM's (one is actually Korean with Mitsubishi engine) and I'm pretty sure I'll regret the move in a few years. We will see. I think the 2005 that I paid 17000$ for is only worth about 5000$ now so I'll have to keep it until I send it to the scrap heap. The second one was a family decision. That one will probably be worth dirt in a day or two since I've bought it all the way back in May.leoantix wrote:im a honda man myself, down to the bare bones ... yet i do fancy that weird german engineeringSpeeddemon wrote:Umm... development update:
for an effort of optimizing the CTS-V on slower Mac this is the meshes list for exterior and interior model (you can remove interior via Redline preferences)
Exterior model:
Car's body (actually about 3500/3900 estimated polygons)
Interior model:
Car's interior (not yet modeled)
Front Lights (500 polygons)
Side mirrors (350 polygons estimated)
Wheels model:
4x Wheels (500 polygons)

Re: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, 23 nov '08: 1.0
this just to give u a taste of lights detail. They are similar to the ones you find in S6. Leo, thx for your help, can u pls give me a detail on front light?
This is a picture with my notes about how the lights work. I saw in JUST ONE youtube movie, the chance to have a LED lights. But I'm really not sure, cause from the images of press kit release, there's no chance or place for a LED light...
Re: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, 23 nov '08: 1.0
welp seems out of the two local dealers around my area the cts-v has still not been released to their lots yet ... meaning no photos of that beautiful grill. they do have a few new cts models yet i know some of the outer trim is different than the other model. let me know don, if you want pictures of the standard cts, for it will be a few weeks before they get some on the lots. in the meantime, i found a pretty cool link with some info, pics and specs of the new monster.

Re: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, 23 nov '08: 1.0
thx leo, naturally I know that link. I used the 2009 CTS-V official site as my source for any info about this car...
well, good guys... you are almost close to try, and just think in advance of real customers, the brand new 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, one of the exciting sedans will be available for large market.
Cadillac claims the CTS-V is most powerful V8 sedans was ever made, and should be hit the M5/S6/E63 market. Well, she has not the luxury things and stuffs we can have in a german sport-luxury sedan, but at least, the american car maker is trying to do better and better...
If FIAT is growing with its tin cans with 4 wheels, why Cadillac can't do better?

emmmh i forgot.
you can now don't fear anymore. 2824 triangulated polygons for the body. This number can increase with modeled exhaust, with front fog light, underplane and other fixes.
Nothing of the interior was done. The car has no side mirrors, cause they will be added to interior model. This will allow to improve the performance on slower Mac.
