Re: What's consuming your time today?
To day my mbp got back from the repairshop \o/
see you 2night!!!
In past two weeks this is what i was trying to do
its a bit lame compared to rl, auto transmission, break assist. The auto-sync with youtube is kind of fun!
@ambrosia developers: start your iPhone app-engines!

Hey, you can turn off that brake assist!
Btw, How did you get to run time trials or test on that track? I already did the Career once in RR GTI and still can't go beyond the city track for time trials and quick races..
To be honest, I prefer 2XL ATV Offroad or 2XL Supercross. Better graphics, better physics. Got me that ATV game for 80 cents, it's a steal.

Re: What's consuming your time today?
And yet another nice game for the iDevices...
Bought GT Racing yesterday after having considered it for weeks - I'm not disappointed, except for that the front wheels turn more than they should while driving turns - the car doesn't look like it's connected to the road anymore, and the sub-average graphics.
Just like Real Racing it features sync with youtube, but also manual throttle, brakes, transmission at the same time (haven't seen that in an iPhone game yet) and optional electronic aids while driving... (I have to admit that I need the latter in the superlight Lotuses and Caterhams at the moment, otherwise they're off like in the video below where I am trying to control a 700 hp Jaguar XFR).

Re: What's consuming your time today?
Nice Graphics
So where are the buttons?
How many?
How hard is it to keep your fingers over them?
Do you have to look at them and how much screen do they take up?
Also do you find yourself tilting the Iphone while you play.
I have tried a few games on the Ipad Nano and I hate them all. Actually I hate the Ipad Nano too. I know I'm the only one. If it were not for my work and having to sync my contacts and calendar with MM I'd ditch it in a minute.
Anybody know about Valve "Steam" What's that going to do for sim racing when it arrives?

Re: What's consuming your time today?
Nice one, leo, wish you all the best with that car!
Nice pic Alph, gotta save that one
Heh, the graphics aren't even that good
OK, about the buttons..
I set my game up for maximum control on my end, means I have manual acceleration, braking and shifting on the screen. (If I wanted, I could shift by shaking it, but that's rubbish imho).
Because there are so many buttons on the screen, I have to tilt it to turn (accelerometer steering), which actually works quite well. Hitting the controls shouldn't be a problem either with some practice. Mis-shifts or unintended Acceleration happen once in 2 or 3 races here, and I bought the game just yesterday. And if you have to look.. you're looking at the screen all the time anyway!
Changing views works by sliding the finger up or down between the brakes and the gearbox controls.
Here's my display/control setup:

Re: What's consuming your time today?
It is currently garaged upstate until I can find appropriate indoor parking in the city.
Next time I get up there I will get some pics with me on it.
Scary indeed... 155hp.....weighs only 350 pounds!

Re: What's consuming your time today?
My uncle just sent me this photo.
It makes a big difference in the scale with me on it.
Photos of the bike by itself make it look bigger than it actually is.

a bit more like 182 kW with a 6 speed to control it ... overtaking is not an issue (except perhaps something like slows monster)Tuktuk wrote:Nice! 147kW? Good for easy cruising behind and ... a sudden overtaking!
Re: What's consuming your time today?
Sweet machines fellas! Picked up this one last year. Looks great, crisp handling, decent power, no feedback or soul to speak of. Can't wait to sell it.
Gotta get me a passport for some upstate riding - new set of gear ordered tonight.
