Is this next one Dan ?
I'm thinking next RLTCC.... hoping for Watkins Glen, Thuxton, Imola and Brands. I only want finished tracks in the event though so It might just be wishful thinking. Then again.... I dont mind holding off the event. I have no timetable.
As a feeler... I'm thinking..... less participants, more cars per race as in 2 groups of 10, no eternal break in the middle of the event. 4 consecutive weeks.... this info privy to legacy crowd.
Will read comments, opinions and suggestions but in the end... Dictator approach still applies.

Re: What's consuming your time today?
Yep, well under way now. Still need to throw some more buildings, trees and advertising at it before first release. But I'm figuring that will be within another couple of weeks. That should be perfectly race-able but not quite as pretty as it could be!See Flat wrote:Is this next one Dan ?
Back to juggling trees!
Re: What's consuming your time today?
mmm ... two big dogs making two good tracks and another serving coming from the RLTMC as well, this will be one fun and full fall season

Keeping a close eye on the wife (see below)
Had a very long and fun session today hosted by Alphonse and Slow, almost made up for all the time this week I did not have access to the wheel room.
Among other things in the chat today, the Los Angeles fires came up, and we talked about the Santa Ana (like Mistral in Spain) winds that create the vast fast moving deadly fire walls. It must have been really bad yesterday cause the planes and Helicopters were flying at night, something they never do normally. Many hundreds of homes burned.
From Wikipedia: The Santa Ana winds (also known as Santana winds) are strong, extremely dry offshore winds that characteristically sweep through California in late fall into winter. They can range from hot to cold, depending on the source which is the Great Basin (That includes Utah CG, but not you personally). However, the winds are remembered most for the hot dry weather (often the hottest of the year) that they bring in the fall.
Here's a relevant quote by the great detective novelist Raymond Chandler on the Santa Ana winds:
"Those hot dry winds that come down through the mountain passes and curl your hair and make your nerves jump and your skin itch. On nights like that every booze party ends in a fight. Meek little wives feel the edge of the carving knife and study their husbands' necks. Anything can happen."

Re: What's consuming your time today?
I got one half done that might fit nicely. No timetable either, so can't say when it'll be done. About half the buildings done and scenery model just beginning (but its a relatively simple one). Some spy shots may sneak their way past the guards soon...See Flat wrote:I'm thinking next RLTCC.... hoping for Watkins Glen, Thuxton, Imola and Brands. I would take it on and get a team together for the textures. Maybe it is time for some old school DTM races after all.

Ah, someone took the bait.
This is the reason I'll be off the grid for a while in January. This is a 1983 BMW 520i left-hand drive import from Germany with a straight 6 2-litre engine. She is affectionately known as "The Honey Badger" and I and my friend will be attempting to drive her to The Gambia on January 9th.

looks like one hell of a time if you ask me ... kick some arse bud!
Re: What's consuming your time today?
Thanks, guys. I will try to take some fun photos along the way - however far we get. She goes like a rocket when she goes at all - the bugger has broken down on me several times but hopefully after new hoses, battery, rebuilt alternator, new tie bars, bushes, pump, rear lights, engine fan, having the seized brakes freed, new timing belt and coolant tank she will run good.
Nice engine block, good tyres, not too much rust. Everything else...

Seems to have NAT issues, updates promised.
Widget may be unable to join games, but hosting works. Fully functional only in the Facebook app for me.
EDIT: http://testing.cmune.com/PP5HBeta.html ...latest beta...I can join with Safari
2nd EDIT: Widget connection issues might be with Firefox as default only...with Safari works fine, will need to restart widget from within dashboard, and maybe play over website first to get a plugin...
3rd edit: I have to restart the widget (close/reactivate) often to get the tracker working again, playing the standard version.

Re: What's consuming your time today?
This is a Unity 2.1 game... really fun and with state-of-the-art graphics...
Dangerous driving and bad craziness
Howdy.
We made it as far as the Mauritanian border before the clutch hydraulics disintegrated and then we smashed the sump on a rock outcrop whilst traversing 10 kilometres of mine-strewn off-piste no man's land between Western Sahara and Mauritania. Sold the car there and then to a friendly Mauritanian pirate for 250 Euros and a ride to the border. Not a bad price for a 25-year-old car stranded in a mine field with no clutch and oil pouring out of it - and abandoning the vehicle in no man's land meant we avoided paying the extortionate vehicle import duty charged by West African nations. We chartered bush taxis the rest of the way to The Gambia using our ill-gotten gains.
Here's the car shortly before its demise. It will surely be back on the road by now, enjoying its third life.
I'm looking forward to driving recklessly in some virtual cars again soon...

Re: What's consuming your time today?
Welcome back dj, glad you made it home in one piece even if the car didn't. You're a brave man. And yes, I still haven't released "that track" yet, but at least I've set myself a deadline of next weekend...
Are we gonna see a bigger set of pictures some time?

sheesh... that kinda sounds scary. Glad you're alright. Redline is much safer me thinks.
Must have been quite the adventure and I'm sure will be good for some life long memories.
Cheers
