Re: songs of your life...
Holy crap, I know where the clip of the guy at he begining of the song saying "this things not over" comes from. Slaughter House Five, film of Kurt vonnegut's novel. I can't remember where I left my shoes, but I remember that.

Re: songs of your life...
In first, the guy in the picture is using 2 Technics SL 1210. I love them! I can see you like house music? Nice one, this song using an early '90 loop. Don't remember the original author, maybe Capella or Digital Boy?leoantix wrote:god bless the classic analog vinyl mixing days ... heres a very old favorite of mine from the "dazed dayz"
Re: songs of your life...
me and house music!? never a fan at all (dont mind the early 90s dj)
btw technics make for great turntables only if you are willing to abuse them

Re: songs of your life...
trance music, or progressive as it was called here in italy. Yes, it was the highest expression of the dance music, but it was also the end, cause the musicians started to search new sounds, and new sounds, and new sounds. Now, I don't want to feel old, but the dance music is just ridiculous. Maybe i feeling the same sensation my father was feeling while hearding "my" dance musicleoantix wrote:me and house music!? never a fan at all (dont mind the early 90s dj)
By the way, I was and I am still for house music!!!
Re: songs of your life...
Musical styles are perhaps one of the most difficult types of semantics to agree on. My other main hobby besides Redline is identifying electronic dance music at tuneID.com, and at that site we constantly have to eat our own words when it comes to genres and sub-genres.DonaemouS wrote:trance music, or progressive as it was called here in italy.
If you want a very good site for peeking into EDM genres and sub-genres, I can highly recommend Ishkur's Guide To Electronic Music. According to that site, 'Progressive' is just another sub-genre of trance, just like Leo's 'Epic Trance' above. But I don't wander down those paths, so I can't tell you for sure.

If I may contribute to this trance festival, my own favourite artist of the genre.

Liked Juno Reactor and Basement Jaxx for driving around late at night when 18/19. ...ten years ago. Christ, I'm getting up there.

Re: songs of your life...
It's not their song, but rather a ripoff from the musical Tabaluga. Scooter's first single Vallée De Larmes was an original composition, but then Hyper Hyper came out (original: Ultra-Sonic - Annihilating Rhythm) and from that point and onwards it was downhill. Out of Scooter's 40 singles, only a handful can be said to be their own.Aleksi wrote:One of Scooter's best songs
Here's a nice exception from 1994:
Yuck, I can't believe I just posted Scooter in a thread called "songs of your life". Of the songs posted so far, Juno Reactor is probably the one closest to being an open door into my musical realm.
