I did omit something: the Golden Arches logo that goes with the "MacDonalds" on the spoiler. I was going for worn-retro-nerd-chic.

I've been waiting so badly for this. I've been nervous ever-since Dandy mentioned he was altering handling. This was my choice for championship and I hope I can still drive it.

I like the handling improvements, the new skins and the new sounds. I think the engine sound is a bit loud off throttle, but whatever.

The red russian skin in still here, but i noticed the 997 can't register lap online anymore?

The handling is changed, and now is better. Especially compared for her competitors. Who is the 997's lead driver?

I like the new engine sound. Suspension and handling give the same smooth creamy sensation as before. It's not the quickest in the turns, but predicable.
The car wobbles a bit on bumps, the suspension seems to be softer than in previously, but it holds the road pretty good.

I noticed some double booking of start numbers. Now you might care or not about such a minor thing, in case you do here's again the link to the spreadsheet listing what we have so far:

It does register lap times on my end. Dunno what's happening with you, Don, wrong track? Lap time registering off?

Very very nice update.

Compared to hauling down the corvette from speed the 997 is a late brakers dream, and then there is the fact that she turns in quickly, without the tendency to loop, and allows corrections in turns without complaint.

In real life, the GT3 spec is basically "as good as a Porsche 997 GT3, but not better". If it's not as good as the Porsche, you won't win, and if it's better, the FIA penalizes the car with restrictor plates (less power), harder tires, and/or ballast. The Z06-R got all three. I think it would be a good standard for us, even if it's a bit more iterative for the the developer than normal.

What I'm aiming at: if the reference car (997) has changed, it might be necessary to change the competing cars as well.

Pretty much, but I don't believe the others should change. The old 997 was going sideways all the time, so now with better acceleration and roadholding, it should be stacking up much better in the long run. It is way down in the hp department compared to the others, while being quite a fat car. I've seen them up close, and was surprised at just how much bigger they are than the old 911 bodies.

Quite a few cars have this problem. I think it's a Redline bug.

GT racers don't have handbrakes, so I didn't include them this time.

ah ok, didn't know...I just having a try with this beaut when i got a turn a bit quick, and while trying using the handbrake i discovered the wall didn't stop to come to me!
