Volvo S60 R, version 1.4: 30 ago '09
This is the first official S60R/TCC release.
Well, I have so many things to write about this "small project". I started to model and develop this plugin aiming to add a new car in Class C. During the work, and through the page of this topic, someone showed a link to a racing S60. The idea to make happy all players having a racing car too touched me and, who is the best one to produce a racing car?
I want to thx slowDan for his help and support. He had bring to you the Volvo S60 TCC, and he got under his hat this project all the time, cause we wanted to give to this community a Christmas gift (and a news for next RRL)!
There is one more I would to thx. Is another crazy guy! If you'll like dashboard, interior and foglight textures, is thx to Brook. He went on a Volvo showroom, and got the pictures I needed to make the car looks better.
Both cars was accurately tested, tweaked and fixed. Now it's up to you push her to the limits!
Volvo S60R 1.4
Changes:
1.4:
- New Volvo S60 TCC, fitting the new TCC Tournaments standards.
- Completely new physics
- New low poly TCC shadow, improving fps on slower Macs
- Added new TCC skins
- Fixed plugin version
1.3:
- New S60R detailed lowpoly shadow model. This improve performance on all Macs using shadows.
- Fixed front and rear track on S60R.
- Fixed S60R wheels.pos and CoG following game rules.
- Improved S60R brakes.
- Fixed S60R turn signals.
1.2:
- Fixed CoG. Now the car has body roll.
- Fixed damperStrength and SwayBars. The car is stiffer
- Fixed wheels.pos. wheels.maxSuspension is longer now
- Reduced wheels.stickyness, now tweaked as other sedans
- Reduced wheels.loadSensitivity
- New STCC textures
1.1:
- Fixed inertia on STCC
- Fixed downforces on STCC
- Improved fps on slower Mac; new shadowmodel now with up to 30% less polygons
- New alphachannel on S60R body textures, now the car look shine
- New S60R mass center
- Rewritten S60R suspensions values
- Reduced S60R wheels.stickyness
- Fixed S60R wheels.loadSensitivity -0.16
1.0:
- Up to 12 different colours (the original ones)
- Compressed textures, improving performance on slower Mac
- New rims and glow brake discs
- New lights, including indicators, side positions, and stop
- New modeled front lights
- R's Wheel and Rims textures
- Shadow model
- STCC version
- New amazing STCC rims!
- New STCC interior
- Unique physics for STCC and S60R

Well done, Don! The new shadow model and converted textures improved the frame rate a lot. I'm now getting about 50% better fps, comparing the STCC with the S60R.
In terms of driving behaviour, I cannot really feel a difference between 1.2 and 1.3.

Yes, is whta i searching for, especially after the shadow model "success" used for E63 and CTS-V. I hope your advantage is the same for all other players using the shadow models. Why I updated just the R? Cause I didnt get in touch with sD to edit the other one too. STCC, will be updated, soon or later.Tomte wrote:Well done, Don! redownload the car. I fixed the error in version (the plug is 1.4, but showing 1.3) and proudly added the iRoll "only Volvo" team skins.
