That's mostly intentional!slow wrote:
The group II porsche does wheelies when you hit them.
You'll find you can attack them fairly hard in most of the TCC cars and probably get away with it. But if you think about it too hard in a 60's F1 and you'll crash instantly. I've seen real life races lost in the BTCC from someone using the kerbs and picking up a puncture from it.
There is a fairly good view of them here, and how carefully you need to avoid them in a proper race car...

Re: Thruxton Teaser
I have sometimes difficulties seeing the track further ahead. It goes a bit blurry (in lack of a better word). That might have to do something with the graphic settings I have to use. Any chance you could make the asphalt a bit darker or the grass a bit brighter? Anything that helps the contrast.

Re: Thruxton Teaser
Had a chance to do a bout 15 laps yesterday and have to say I like what you have done here very much.
I was going to ask for more visual details that could be used as braking and turn in reference points, but after watching the video of the lap from your last post I realize the real track does not provide them either. So nevermind.
I did my drive in the BMW e90 and learned quickly to be careful and precise around the curbs in the chicane or leap across the track in a most entertaining manner. Of the Tcc cars I guess the BMW and Seat are the most sensitive to curbing, but still I like this feature a lot and would not recommend softening it. Now everyone can enjoy the experience.
Only other thing I've noticed so far is that the the runoff from the 3rd and 4th turns, while destroying your line if you go off track, does not really slow you down much. So I suspect in races there won't be much penalty for those who can't stay on the track surface.

Re: Thruxton Teaser
just ran some laps in the radical as was driven in the video you posted sd. i still think the curbs are excessive. he was using them with success for the first couple laps. even a touch here on rl sends the rad flipping all over the place.

Why not blame the Radical? Either car or track could be the culprit.slow wrote:just ran some laps in the radical as was driven in the video you posted sd. i still think the curbs are excessive. he was using them with success for the first couple laps. even a touch here on rl sends the rad flipping all over the place.

Re: Thruxton Teaser
i agree with slow, the curbs are way too brutal for most cars, not just the radical. noticing from the footage the curbs are more like our monza track, smooth at the beginning but reckless if anyone attempts more than a few inches of tire on them. right now they feel like the thick concrete iron coated curbs in new york city. hehe, enough to take a wheel right off a car
Re: Thruxton Teaser
its not a radical issue. I tried with different cars, and all can't use the kerbs in a way or another. From the Volvo S60 TCC to the softer mustang.
Re: Thruxton Teaser
Did you find another video?slow wrote:he was using them with success for the first couple laps.
There's only one lap and he only touches the kerb on the exit of Church (the stupidly fast right hander at the back of the track), and the exit of the chicane onto the pit straight, both of which are nice and flat.
I am hearing the feedback, but I do want these to punish you severely for trying too hard, so I'm gonna need lots of persuasion to do anything about it. At the moment I think if you go in too hot you can get right off the throttle and steering, jump the kerb and sort it out the other side, which loses you time. If you get it right, you are faster and that's the way it should be.
@ Toad: The complex (as its called) as you probably noticed, is all tarmac so I had to use dirt road surface for it. There just aren't enough other choices. I blocked off the short-cuts though so I still think the right way is the fastest. It just wouldn't look right with tarmac bumping you around as it would if it was the normal run-off setting.

Not an issue in the Mack truck. And that's not as stupid as it sounds: BTRA at ThruxtonDonaemouS wrote:I tried with different cars, and all can't use the kerbs in a way or another. From the Volvo S60 TCC to the softer mustang.

I knew someone would find a respawn bug eventually! Keep trying, there's bound to be another!
