Thruxton Teaser
Most of you lot already know that I'm working on Thruxton so I thought I'd post some pics just to let you know its not all hot air!
There are a hell of a lot of buildings scattered around this place though....
The chicane...
...pits...
and the 'complex' as its called. (The wiggly bit just after the start in other words)
I still need to do a bunch of marshall posts, corner markers, aircraft hangars, airplanes and sort the trees out before I can do a proper release. Still its good to tease!

Re: Thruxton Teaser
oh god, this preview is just gorgeous. I didn't know you was working on a completely new track, perhaps the hardl waited Gorge restyling.
Will be release a public test?

Once I've got those last few things sorted!DonaemouS wrote:Will be release a public test?
I've built this one so that I can add full lightmaps easily. I want to get a drivable version out before I start on all that though.
Re: Thruxton Teaser

Thruxton Kart Centre
I have the .road for Thruxton Kart Centre in my WIP folder, without any roadtypes done. It's an extremely narrow and twisty track, so you can only drive it in a go-kart. With my kart plugins still in early beta, I'm not sure if I should spend too much effort on this compared to my other projects. If you think it adds a significant value to your Thruxton, I'll start refining the track, otherwise I'll work on Buckmore Park instead. Website with track info

Re: Thruxton Teaser
Sounds fun.
If you could see the kart track from the main circuit I would put it in, but in my opinion Buckmore Park is the more important kart track, that's where I would concentrate.
I think next time around I might landscape some of your other efforts. Roadtyping is the bit that gets dull after a while!

Re: Thruxton Teaser
Neh. You only see half of the track hidden behind a hill right before you enter the chicane. I don't think it's worth any effort at the moment. I'll save it for a 1.1 release.slowDan wrote:

Let me know if you should feel the itch to do so, I'll gladly provide you with source material if necessary. Nordschleife is taking severeal decades to roadtype, so to have some polished tracks released in the meantime wouldn't hurt a bit.slowDan wrote:

Re: Thruxton Teaser
Well, it's "progressing" in the sense that it's my 3rd priority. Hopefully ready for a RL-TMC session "when it's done"™
I'll post a thread on it as soon as I have something more than a messy patchwork to share.

Re: Thruxton Teaser
Progress report...
I've got the marshall posts, some advertising and most of the hangars in position. Corner markers are in, not that many though, no more than real life anyway.
Need to scatter some more trees and get the skies sorted before I get 0.8 out. I may even get carried away and put some airplanes around the runways, who knows!

??? Why can't I see no replies here?
Anyway, sD, in case you need some textures for pit boxes, this is what I shot on Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.

BTW, the braking zone towards the final chicane is a killer. Throws me off most of the time. Don't change it!

Re: Thruxton Teaser
No idea! It wasn't that interesting anyway, something about adding some extra blocks in the chicane.Tomte wrote:??? Why can't I see no replies here?
Your picture links don't seem to be working. Then again from the photos I've seen they are fairly dull wooden sheds at Thruxton.
Heh, I was saying to Val, you know when its time to brake when you can't take the fear anymore!

note: STILL A BADASS TRACK! keep it up

Re: Thruxton Teaser
don't worry, I would again rewrite my compliments for this track. The small bugs I found was ambient light related and about the last chicane before the finish line.
Re: Thruxton Teaser
really liking this track sd. has great flow and rhythm and im starting to get the hang of that last chicane.
one thing i have noticed is that the curbs (especially in last chicane) are very abrupt. the group II porsche does wheelies when you hit them.
im not really familiar with this track in real life but i just thought that they would be a little more drivable.
thanks again for the track. well done. slow
