Reiter Engineering Gallardo GT3 v1.1 - 27 Jan 2009
Hey guys,
I am proud to present the Gallardo GT3 v1.1, the "Beauty update" for the v1.0.9 with a few tiny handling refinements (don't be scared !)
Note: remove the old Gallardo GT3 from your Plug-Ins folder to make sure this works. I didn't try it but the interior models may cause a conflict.
Credits to:
Kishkumen: 3D-model (95% new)
Valentin K: setup, skins, lights
Tomte: big thanks for help with GIMP and explanation / help on the .car file, steering wheel texture, etc
DonaemouS: setup and overall help
T5.3i: #51 and #88 skin
NoNameBrand: #68 skin
The engine sound was taken from the 2004 Gallardo for Racer.
Thanks to Maxwell for finding a free Gallardo GT3 model on 3dvia.com which was used as base for Kishkumen's model.
Changelog:
1.1
various 3D model refinements by Kishkumen (added diffuser, corrected exhaust, added visible engine)
Texture refinements
Slight handling refinements (frontal air resistance lowered by 0.01; downforce on the front also increased by 0.01)
All textures changed to .png
1.0.9
New, way less polyheavy 3D model by Kishkumen (using the old one as base; from 10000 to approx. 5000 polys)
New handling (allowing the car to drive tracks with elevation without too big problems)
1.0.0
First version with 3D model from 3dvia.com
Get the Gallardo v1.1 here
Comments appreciated!

Less stable = better for drifting?Valentin K wrote: it's less stable than the current Corvette Z06 R, Porsche 997 and Mustang GT3 builds.
It's very nice work though. Well done to you both.

Beleive it or not: this is not dead
Here's a progress pic showing one of Argo Racing's 2008 ADAC GT Masters cars
I hope that this will be release-ready by mid-january. (some minor model and template fixes are left, the new handling is also about ready (big thanks to Tomte and Don for help!))

Re: Reiter Engineering Gallardo GT3 v1.1 - 27 Jan 2009
Hey everyone,
I decided to release a preview-ish version 1.0.9 (feel free to replace 1.0 with this ) of the Gallardo GT3 since the fixes on the model and template will take a little longer than expected. Version 1.1 will follow once the above mentioned issues are sorted out, but for the moment I think it's better to have this than the in many ways problematic v1.0
Not many things stayed the same on this car
Credits to:
Kishkumen: 50% cut on the polycount of the model and other modifications on it, Template
Tomte: big thanks for help with GIMP and explanation / help on the .car file, steering wheel texture, etc
Valentin K: setup, skins, lights
DonaemouS: setup and overall help
Hope you like her:

Glad you like it
Time ta report some progress ! Kish's model can be considered done (and the template also carries his name now), only a few minor things (like the engine grill cover) yet have to be altered/fixed
Oh, and here is the template for the case anyone wants to do a skin or two for this little beast
New Template 18th January: http://www.box.net/shared/ap63rd2nhb
See you on the track !

Re: Reiter Engineering Gallardo GT3 v1.1 - 27 Jan 2009
Finally got a Gallardo powerplant in and the v1.0.9 skins redone (the engine was a Murcielago V12 texture as a placeholder before)
Edit 18th January:
Installed some new rear lights now - moving towards the version 1.1 release with big steps now

Update in the works...
Can't limit the changes for the next release exclusively to physics...
