Here are things which cannot be done on Forumotions:
- control the messages before they are shown on the forum.
- remove, move or modify the default avatars in your galleries. You can only disable them.
- get a sql backup of the forum database to export it. You can't import a non-forumotion board either.
- attach files to the emails sent via your forum.
- install a skin directly.
- install a MOD directly.
Well - i expected that somehow dusty. No worries, its okay for me.
We are hosting some phpBB's here too, and besides some security issues coming up periodically, the mods may mess up the whole board. just leave it as is, its okay for me

I vote left, I guess I'm just used to it that way, but it's fine either way if it's a tie.

WOW... look at this... I just logged on and without even reading this post... My brain was put into a state of visual relief and bliss.leoantix wrote:the masses have spoken ... although a minority i still like it on the right
Just look how it all works out. Topic / Reply buttons under the persons name and info, quote and edit buttons on the right of the subject tittle... it all makes much more sense as far as design goes.
Thank you Thank you Thank you... and it only cost me a nickel!

Re: Under Construction
I like the avatars on the right. For what it's worth, it's the default in PHPBB3 (compared to the left with previous versions).
Good work on the theme, though the "+quote" seems to be floating all along.

not sure what you mean by "floating all along"NoNameBrand wrote: ... though the "+quote" seems to be floating all along.

along? meant 'alone'.
Damn spell checker not figuring out what I meant instead of what I wrote.

Re: Under Construction
I've noticed that when I first come on there will be a bunch of topics with the green dot, then, after viewing one, they all magically go away. Is this a problem with my browser (safari) or the forum?

perhaps the browser ... anyone else noticed this problem?

Re: Under Construction
I'm always confused about the green dots. In the square seems to work for new messages, but sometimes, on the left of the topic there is a green dot that means nothing... the threads are unchanged and I have already read the last message. Sometimes the dots are not there. I'm also using Safari.leoantix wrote:perhaps the browser ... anyone else noticed this problem?

Re: Under Construction
as far as i understand it, those little green dots just to the left of the topic names (not the ones in the squares), indicates one has participated in the topic by posting in it. thus, if one hasn't posted in a particular topic that green dot won't be there. hehe ... i think
when dealing with other member's posts yes ... when dealing with ones own posts, there is also "edit" and "delete"NoNameBrand wrote:along? meant 'alone'.

as long as i haven't red all topics in the forums with green dots in squares, there are green dots in squares.
so it works for me.

Re: Under Construction
I checked Firefox and it is missing the green dots for unread, even though there was a new one in comedy central I had not read yet. ( And then some others I'd not read, but this is one of them) I did remember to log into my account first.leoantix wrote:perhaps the browser

One other, unrelated thing. I just noticed that when reading the Cadillac topic, it said Leoantix, DonamouS, and See Flat were online. Checking the main screen, however, showed only I was online.
I did clear my cache and check again.

i have noticed that myself, sometimes the server seems to be a bit late when it comes to showing who's really online in the topicsSpeeddemon wrote:One other, unrelated thing. Re: Under Construction
Green dots seem to show up in the right places for me.
You'll never convince me to trust those things, how can they possibly know?leoantix wrote:

They don't know, they assume.
If you click on the forums topic you are suspected to be reading it currently for a predefined period of time.
This is an approach where the error lies in the construct itself, only a guess and not the truth in all cases...

Re: Under Construction
I was using another computer, and this time, the dots behaved like they were supposed to. Could this just be some problem of the other computer?

i would love to blame it on your computer, alas i think the boards during peak hours play a part with the chaos a bit ... thats my latest guess for nowSpeeddemon wrote:I was using another computer, and this time, the dots behaved like they were supposed to.
