Audi RS 6, 13 feb '11: 1.0
After the first release in early 2009, I'm proud to announce the release of one of the new milestone Redline achieved! With over 5500 polygons, 200 light dots, and a driving setup completely based on Tomte latest physics, here the 2009 Audi RS 6. This car is armed with a twinturbo 5 liters V10 Lamborghini engine featuring 572 bhp and a flat torque of 650 Nm since 1500 rpm!
Was quite hard to replicate the car handle in Redline, but I did it. Perfect suspensions work within an accurate CoG, will give u the real feel of driving one of the heavy car Redline have! What I love is how the car look in Redline. The Body move back, front left and right under its weight, and thx of the power. But will not drive like the "Charger". She is equipped with a natural "antiflip" setup, but asking to its driver to accurately decide corner speeds. I shared with all of you some picts from the car development and once i watch at them, I can't believe I did it this car!
I spent more then 6 months of development on this car... Thx Jonas, Tomte, Valentin_K, for this great addition!

- New RS 6 titanium 20" rims
- Full Beam and cone combined with horn
- Rear stand and brake LED lights real simulation
- Mirrors indicators

Re: Audi RS 6, 13 feb '11: 1.0
testing is started.
The .car is quite done, and will need tweaks on suspensions and aerodynamics. Actually the car has an understeery behavior. What do u think about? Should this car is understeery?

note: @ 3:31 the fun begins
Re: Audi RS 6, 13 feb '11: 1.0
Leo - Tiff himself says the car understeers and feels very heavy in the corners. Perhaps Audi's tightened things up for the sedan, though. You can see a bit of this in the first video at 3:08-3:11 as the driver is pulling it out of the power slide and actually trying to get it around the corner.

You might not understand what he says but listen to the front wheels: (2:10, 2:50 and at other places)leoantix wrote:

One of his comments: "If there is anything in the world that you can feel sorry about, then it is front wheels from Audi"
He states that the car understeers quite a bit, due to a 60/40 weight distribution and a weight of more than 2 tonnes.
He still thinks that the car handles kind of well, cause Audi set it up in a way the the rear will help you turning in, so that can set it up properly for a corner.
To get the rear coming round and do powerslides/4 wheel drifts, it needs to be provoked (which you can see at 1:45).
Still, he calls it a truck.

The wheels are speaking German too but I can translate: "AAAAAAAAARRRRGH!"Tomte wrote:You might not understand what he says but listen to the front wheels
This looks like it handles very much like Don's S6 Avant does, but more so.

At the end, with slowDan we got a good work. This time I got the tomte help in tweaking. And yes, we are going to have our Redline RS6 as much close as the Tomte/Leo videos...
I hardly waiting your feelings
EDIT: nice video reportages, thx!
Re: Audi RS 6, 13 feb '11: 1.0
the tweaking and setup is coming really well, and quickly. And I would to get this chance to give my thanks to Tomte for his good work on suspensions and handling tweaking. I really appreciate his works, and once I asked him an help in developing the brand new 2009 Audi RS6, I cannot think the car may coming so real and fun.
We got a good .car on which work. I'm spending hours in testing and what I can anticipate is: WOW!

Seems like you like fat ladies Don
Had some races in mp tonite and it was a pleasure to bring that baby along the curves. Handles really nice.
Its just another heavy car, needs lots of breaking. But thats not negative - just a flavour.
thanks for your work!

Re: Audi RS 6, 13 feb '11: 1.0
Yesterday I received the first wishes, and I really appreciate. What with Tomte aimed to have, is simulate the real car behavior. Looking at reviews, and looking at the movies, we can see how this car is extremely fat, hard to put in turn, and need magic trick to have a good cornering ability.
I was able to have the do the same, and "our" RS6 is like to turn at the same way. Now, Tomte already noted I made something wrong on brakes power. The car is a bit unstable at high speed braking (I thought was correct, but I was wrong).
Also, as u can see, the RS6 is heavier then S6 Avant. Is it possible? No, indeed, is wrong. But RS6 follow the Redline rules in adding driver and fuel, the S6 was released before I joined this rule. S6 Avant will receive an update to fix this value.

RS6 development restarted. The 3D body model is finally done. I still missing the RS6 rims. UV Maps are in, and I'm already working on the body "lines" and colors. The interior is ready as well.
The RS6, as I wrote, will follow all the new introductions was made with Tomte's spreadsheet and Brook's dotCar Editor. Also, the RS6 will features frictions and RRC.
After the final release, all the other sedans will receive those fixes as well.

Beautiful (the model), but slow (the progress). Get a grip, Don, shut your store and concentrate on THE GAME.
Now where is my dark corner?
