I understand where you are coming from, wide open inlet ports and everything. But what I think it's happening in a real engine is that the noise gets louder and more voluminous when you open the tabs compared to cruising along, but it does not change the frequency of the explosions/rpm etc. But this is how Redline simulates rpm: playing the tape faster, which makes it sound higher up the scale.
I'm sure I'm using the wrong terminology here, have hardly any idea of sound engineering and music in the first place.
So as a compromise I would play with the zeroThrottleSoundGain and fullThrottleSoundGain.
C14ru5 wrote:You should probably set zeroThrottleSoundGain to 0.5
I think that this is too much difference. With the fullThrottleSoundPitch at 1.05, I would set it 0.1 - 0.2 lower, but not more.

I've got it sounding right....now for a few visual corrections...will release this morning, 10-11 EST (15-1600 UTC) window.

No hard feelings I hope?

Re: Spy Shots
Don't read the following as feedback, more as a discovery.
Result: 12.5m curb-to-curb turning diameter with wheels.maxAngle 0.49
To achieve 10.8m curb-to-curb turning diameter: wheels.maxAngle 0.6
Again, I don't see it as necessary for you to change this, but it may be worth knowing about. It certainly causes the car to feel different when driving with the keyboard.
This is a specification that I've never taken note of before, mostly because this data never is given for race cars, most of the time it's only available for more boring and sensible road cars. When reading through the data sheet, I got the idea to test this specification inside Redline for the first time. I made a roadtype with texture changes for every 2m, and went into the "above view" camera mode. Assuming that KTM's value is for the curb-to-curb turning diameter, I placed the front outside wheel along one of the edges, full steering lock, and drove slowly to the other side of the roadtype.KTM in the X-Bow Technical Data Sheet wrote:Turning circle 10.8m

Since when do we need the full lock in Redline?DANDY wrote:I disagree...C14ru5 wrote:I don't see it as necessary for you to change this
I always thought that this isn't necessary as nobody in real life would go full lock at 200 kph, which is something you do quite regulary on the keyboard...

Re: Spy Shots
nice done DANDY. But, i found this new update a bit without personality. I feel the Xbow a bit flat on cornering. She do turn sliding.
About lights, the rear lights are invisible. Is that true?

Re: Spy Shots
Looks like the tail lights need to come out a bit more, maybe 1 cm is enough.
What happened to the steering wheel? It appears to be upside down on my end.
EDIT: my fault. It really looks that way and is not upside down! Should have checked before.
BTW, lovely touch with the shocks I should have thought about that for the Atom.
I really like the handling, the way it deals with the bumps. On tracks like Mountainside or Black Forest or anything with bumps I'm much more confident accelerating out of a corner with the X-Bow than with the Atom and get better lap times.

are you sure? There are improvements to be made in the lights, but they're all there....(one small LED is missing/hidden on each side)DonaemouS wrote:

The lights are there, just barely visible. But ring shaped rear lights are always a pain.Dandy wrote:are you sure? There are improvements to be made in the lights, but they're all there....(one small LED is missing/hidden on each side)DonaemouS wrote:

Uh... RPM is a frequency - 6000 RPM is 100Hz.
When you stomp on the gas, the bigger explosions drive the pistons harder, turning the crank faster, causing more explosions to happen in the same amount of time, so that the note we hear rises in pitch (aka frequency!). It's not just Redline that's "playing the tape faster", it's real life too.
That pesky physics stuff...
Listen to this (especially as the driver coasts/brakes into corners prior to down shifting):
Re: Spy Shots
But that's what I'm saying, at least what I wanted to say. When I go off the throttle or coast, the frequency should not go up (which is does if the zeroThrottleSoundPitch is set to a higher value than fullThrottle).NoNameBrand wrote:

Anyway, I already go used to the sound of the KTM. I actually like it, despite the 'wrong' frequency change.

But the constituent sound "pulses" of the final engine sound have an effect! Did you listen to the clip of the Z06.R? the sound goes up briefly before going down- that's all the effect of a higher value zerothrottlepitch setting we want.
Re: Spy Shots
NoNameBrand wrote:listen to the Z06R..the sound goes up briefly before going down
I just modded the BMW sound in a similar way.
It appears I need to cut the gains on zeroThrottle and fullRPM on the KTM to lessen the effect.
Thanks for the 100 Hz tip...I've been humming in my car along with various RPM, meaning to get the note off an instrument...no need now. I tuned the BM to around 100Hz@6k using a square wave file, sounds better already.
